Exploring the Embarcadero, 3/2013

Up until this day, I haven’t really messed with the settings too much on my camera. I’ve mostly just been trying to get used to the 50 mm lens (which is awesome in getting me unafraid of zooming in), and learning how to frame the shots I want. Also just been trying to get the shutter speed right and learn how to use the manual focus. One step at a time I suppose…

So anyways, this day, like any gloriously sunny day in San Francisco, everyone, including myself, had to get out of the house. So I took my camera with me in trying to capture the love I have for this city.

And in actually trying so hard to capture what I feel, I was honestly a bit disappointed. Anyways, here are the best of what I had.

Totally normal in SF.

I'm still a bit torn by this framing. The random dude in the back sticks out, the background is boring... but the kid was so sadly taking his time out here that maybe it's suiting. =P

Was waiting for the lights on the bay bridge, but I got too cold while waiting for dark.

I like to title this "SASS and ASS" =)

Lovin the sunlight stars, but the framing is a bit too low and the photo too dark? Maybe the street too boring.

MAN. This is my most disappointing picture yet. Something about this photo has all the elements I love about SF- the hill in the back, the trolley, the cab, the campaign... but why does this photo not capture how perfect it was when I was standing there? The direct sunlight?! Blerg.

My favorite photos of the day:

Diggin the lamp in the dark of the picture and the scraggly of nature against the clean lines of the building.
